Prati Shopping (Self Guided), Rome

In addition to all the ancient sites and superlative architecture, the eternal city of Rome is an exciting shopping destination with luxury stores and boutiques and leading fashions. One of the best known shopping areas is Prati, a very wealthy neighborhood.

With your bags, wallets and purses, head to Via Ottaviano, known as one of the main shopping streets in the city. Along its length you will find local independent shops as well as a smattering of high street brands. Also among the many stores are some specializing in women's clothes and accessories.

Then make your way over to another very famous shopping street, Via Cola di Rienzo. This is often ranked as one of the most expensive in the country and it is easy to see why when you browse the racks of such boutiques as Tommy Hilfiger, Armani and Miss Sixty. The street is also home to a branch of the Coin department store. Another must-do shopping destination is Viale Guilio Cesare, populated by chain shops and independent boutiques. No doubt, all this shopping will make you feel hungry, but you won't have too far to go to look for a great meal. Prati is also celebrated for the vibrancy of its food scene and there are wonderful eateries serving gourmet Italian dishes as well as international cuisines.
