What to See in Yerevan in Two Days, Yerevan, Armenia
What to see in Yerevan, the capital of Armenia? Often Armenia and, in particular, Yerevan, are forgotten by tourists. I actually found Yerevan to be a vibrant city, well worth a visit. Also, Armenia is a relatively small state; Yerevan is a perfect base for day tours, without moving from day to day.
This is therefore a post devoted to what to see in Yerevan in two days. In fact, in my opinion, 48 hours of sightseeing is enough to appreciate the Armenian capital.
The iconic monument of Yerevan is, in my opinion, the Cascade. This impressive staircase (I counted at least 500 steps) is divided into an inner and an outer part. Inside the staircase (where there are escalators) you can appreciate the exhibition rooms of the Cafesijan Museum, while outside you can, as you ascend, appreciate spectacular views of the city and Mount Ararat. The Cascade, built beginning in 1976, culminates with a statue commemorating the 50th anniversary of the October Revolution.
At the base of the Cascade you can appreciate three beautiful statues by Botero: a smoking woman, a warrior and a fat cat (my favorite!). I also recommend visiting the Cascade at night, when it is beautifully lit! ...... (follow the instructions below for accessing the rest of this article).
