Inaugurated in 1997, this monument captures the pivotal moment of the city, when it held the meeting between Federico Errázuriz and Julio A. Roca, respectively the presidents of Chile and Argentina back in 1899, in effort to promote peace in the Patagonian region. It represents the two nations’ diplomatic willingness to reconcile conflicts and difficulties.
