Fuerteventura Vegan Food Guide, Corralejo, Spain
Before we get into details about the Fuerteventura vegan scene, let’s go through the journey to get there. Airports are not the most vegan-friendly places that exist, but this is changing slowly, too.
After a smooth check-in, I got an oat cappuccino to-go in my bamboo cup, from Uppercrust near the departure gates. The onward flight from Helsinki (HEL) to Gran Canaria (LPA) was about 7 hrs, so we decided to order an in-flight dinner.
This VGML meal was pre-ordered when I booked the tickets with Norwegian Air. Veggie Couscous – warm and well flavoured but not too filling and no bread or anything on the side for 11 EUR.. Can’t expect much on a budget airline. The reusable fork was mine, just a small tip to avoid plastic.

Due to delays (first lockdown in Spain) on our first return trip, we ended up staying in the airports for over 10 hours in total, surviving off snacks: Clif bars, nuts and chips. Gran Canaria airport had a place near the departure gates with vegan options on the menu – we were starving by then, so the fresh peas salad, orange juice and potato wedges tasted amazing. ......
