Dad-Daughter European Trip: Prague, Prague, Czech Republic
Continuing with my series of photographs (finally!) from the most epic European dad-daughter trip of (probably?) our lifetime –
So, after our time in Brussels, we hopped aboard a Brussels Air flight on December 15, 2023 and landed in Václav Havel Airport in Prague about 90 minutes later. We grabbed an Uber and about 25 minutes later, checked into the Grand Hotel Bohemia, located just a few steps from the historical center of Prague.
Prague is the capital and largest city of the Czech Republic and is home to about 1.4 million people. It is considered one of Europe’s most beautiful cities and (spoiler alert!) it really is. It’s one of the cities I’ve always wanted to visit (especially in December), not to mention Prague being named in just about every spy movie (am I right?).
Built between the 11th and 18th centuries, the historic center of Prague (the Old Town) has been included in the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites due to its great architectural and cultural influence. The Prague architectural works of the Gothic Period (14th and 15th centuries), the High Baroque of the 1st half of the 18th century and of the rising modernism after the year 1900, influenced the development of Central European, perhaps even all European, architecture (*). ......
